Hey honey, look, I can see our car! The Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum is on the south end of the Dulles Airport property and features a 160 foot observation tower overlooking the runways. Cool in theory, but it seemed people were most excited by the view of the parking lot and after getting off the elevator and giving obligatory “wow, we’re up high” statements, conversation turned toward “Hey, I see our car!”. The place was really too big and warehouse-like for two small kids and even the potentially-interactive exhibits (like the tour of the airplane cockpit at the bottom of this page) were just plexiglassed-off looks inside.
