Where playground toys go to die:
Since we were basically photo-stalking Backy on this trip and had to stop at Wawa for much-needed liquids after 90 degree hiking, I went over the unofficial dump where he had found the old Lake Park playground digger. Yep: still there!

Peggy Parsons prepares for her first stop in Africa trip
I do not know what my purpose being there will be. But I feel like I am completing my call by showing up. I will bring with me the spirituality of generous orthodoxy and Christ-centered inclusion that we have found at Freedom Friends Church. I am sure that I will have many interesting conversations, with sisters from Africa and America. We will sing together study together and worship together. I will take all of me and all of the Christ within me, to meet them and the Christ they carry.

This week, the migratory honey bees are descending on South Jersey’s extensive blueberry farms and cranberry bogs. The bees are stacked on tractor-trailer beds, like any other cargo, strapped down and covered with a net. During transportation, the bees cling to their hives, bunched up and stuck together. Some fly off, some die on the trip. The bottom of the trailer bed is littered with their remains. But most — millions and millions of them — survive, healthy and ready for important work.
