Patricia Barber: "Convincement" or "Uncertainment"
What is it that we in the liberal branch of Quakerism are “convinced” of? And if we are so “convinced,” why are we so shy about telling other people about it? Perhaps in the spirit of “let your yay be yay and your nay be nay,” we should more truthfully call it “uncertainment” rather than “convincement.”
